SCPS is seeking an energetic and passionate professional to join the Health Services leadership team! Working alongside the Director of Health Services, the Supervisor of Health Services will support the needs, evaluate outcomes and ensure the SCPS Student Health Services department is consistent with guidelines established by state and local health agencies. This position provides on-site, direct support to school nurses, clinic assistants, and staff in the overall organization, management and implementation of the school health program, requiring frequent travel to various school buildings.

Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures compliance with Code of Virginia requirements for training school staff, regulations governing the Standard of Practice and Standard of Care from the Virginia Board of Nursing, the Scope and Standards of Practice for School Nursing, the Virginia Board of Health and Virginia Board of Education Guidelines for School Health Practice, and the Code of Ethics for Nurses in School Nursing Practice Guidelines for School Health Practice, and the Code of Ethics for Nurses in School Nursing Practice
- Provides guidance for disease surveillance and monitoring in schools establishing protocol and collaborates with Rappahannock Area Health District
- Assists in implementing, coordinating, and supervising the school health program and services within the School Division
- Demonstrates knowledge of school health related services to assist the Director of Health Services in the overall management of student health care needs
- Determines and modifies scheduling of nursing staff and nursing students
- Assists the Director of Health Services with the planning, coordination, and presentation of group and individual activities for school nurses, clinic assistants, and other Health Services staff

Education and Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health or related field from an accredited college or university
- Valid (current, not expired) Registered Nurse (RN) License held within the state of Virginia or other compact state
- National School Nurse Certification (NCSN)
- Valid (current, not expired) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid (current, not expired) Driver’s License
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health or related field from an accredited college or university
- Three (3) years of experience in school nursing or public health
- Prior supervisory experience
- Prior acute care experience

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 12-Month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated anually.
