SCPS is seeking a Private School and Residential Case Manager to join our Student Support Services Team. Responsbilites of this position include travel to various locations to supervise the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for private school children throughout the Division.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinates schedules with families and private day schools to schedule IEP and eligibility meetings, puts together IEP (Individualized Education Programs) drafts with input from private day schools, responsible for completion of final paperwork and obtaining team members' signatures
- Works collaboratively with the Office of Comprehensive Services through the Department of Social Services
- Manages current IEPs to ensure the provision of all appropriate instruction and other related services
- Arranges for re-evaluations and completes eligibility draft and final paperwork, as needed
- Coordinates visits for parents prior to placements
- Requests all necessary funding for students on caseload
- Provides, in cooperation with school and site personnel, periodic reports on each student’s progress in a manner consistent with the reporting practices of the division.
- Establishes a cooperative, working relationship with each student’s family and private facilities

Education and Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate License in Special Education
- An acceptable rating of prior teaching experience, as applicable
Preferred
- Prior teaching experience within a public school system

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 11-Month (220 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
