SCPS is seeking a Paraeducator to join the administrative office at Brock Road Elementary School, home of the Bobcats! In this role, you will provide administrative support to the front office. Leveraging customer service skills, you will work closely with parents, teachers and School Administration to ensure a productive learning environment for all students.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greets incoming personnel, to include the check-in/out procedures of students, parents and other visitors
• Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, taking attendance, ordering supplies, and basic troubleshooting
• Generates reports on student attendance, creates letters to parents regarding student absences
• Supports the bookkeeper with assigned tasks when necessary
• Creates and maintains the student attendance database and student records
• Prepares homework requests per student absences.
• Works in other school areas outside the office or library, i.e.classroom, cafeteria, gym, labs, etc
• Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty as assigned by the principal or designee

Education and Experience: 

 

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
• Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (185 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
