Essential Functions:
With the support of the classroom teacher and instructional coaches,
- provide high-intensity tutoring to students in reading and math.
- implement effective teaching strategies and techniques to ensure maximum engagement and learning outcomes for the students (lesson plans provided).
- use instructional technology to monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback and guidance to help students improve their academic performance.
- maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and assessments, ensuring confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information.
- participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills as a high-intensity tutor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Background in education and experience working with diverse student populations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with students
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential
- Knowledgeable of or a desire to learn about current educational technology and resources to enhance instruction.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma required; a college degree preferred
- At least one year of experience working in a similar capacity and/or with school-aged children.
Terms of Employment: Hourly position (minimum of 10 hours per week; maximum of 40 hours per week)
Salary Range: This is an hourly position. Hourly rates are as follows: $20/hour for non-degreed tutors; $30/hour for degreed tutors who do not hold a teaching license; $50/hour for licensed teachers serving as tutors.
