Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a student-focused and encouraging Paraeducator to monitor and provide instructional support to students within In-School Suspension classrooms. Essential Job Functions:
- Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments within In-School Suspension (ISS) classrooms
- Reviews in-school suspension policies and procedures, including student behavior expectations
- Monitors student completion of ISS assignments; assists with evaluating and testing students when necessary
- Provides instructional assistance, feedback and mentorship to students when necessary
- Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
- Monitors students whereabouts and observes student safety; refers problems to the Teacher or School Administrator
- Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting
- Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, parent pick up/curbside duty, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, office duty, and class coverage, as necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned by School Administration

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (185 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
