Description

Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator to join our Licensed Administration team! The CTE Coordinator is responsible for supporting CTE curriculum initiatives in middle and high schools by working with school-based staff to align curriculum resources with school division initiatives and to promote CTE programs among stakeholder groups. Under the direction of the Supervisor of CTE, this position also assists with the development of curriculum, evaluation of instructional resources, and data analysis for program viability.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with the curriculum supervisor and school administrators to address areas of highest need within CTE programs, including curriculum development, the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of instructional resources, and the implementation of cross-curricular activities to effectively incorporate career and technical education competencies in other content areas
  • Supports CTE initiatives throughout the District’s middle and high schools, ensuring that students are receiving equitable options and access to Career and Technical Education programs
  • Communicates regularly with Middle School Team Leads, High School Department Chairs, and CTE Program Leads regarding curriculum and program-specific information; facilitates meetings for teacher leaders
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to collect student data, support the develop instructional supports, and to monitor program effectiveness; collaborates with teams to recommend, implement and monitor proposed improvements
  • Proctors industry credential assessments for students and teachers, and provides industry credential training and support for high school CTE teachers across the division
  • Coordinates training, professional development and continual support for new and experienced teachers of Career and Technical Education
  • Assists in the selection and approval of CTE software and equipment; assists with the planning, preparation, and delivery of professional development training for implementation in the classroom or laboratory setting
  • Assists with the planning, organizing, and facilitating meaningful work-based learning experiences through business/industry and community resources; communicates with school administrators, CTE teachers, business partners, and the Community Connections supervisor

Education and Experience:

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently possesses a Technical Professional, Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License
  • Ability to obtain additional appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
  • Five (5) years of recent and successful teaching experience within a Career and Technical Education center

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently possesses a Technical Professional, Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License with endorsement in an instructional area under Career and Technical Education

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 12-Month (243 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
